Wisdom from Pooh

“Sometimes, if you stand on the bottom rail of a bridge and lean over to watch the river slipping slowly away beneath you, you will suddenly know everything there is to be known.”

“Rivers know this: there is no hurry. We shall get there some day.”

“Don't underestimate the value of Doing Nothing, of just going along, listening to all the things you can't hear, and not bothering.”

“I wonder what Piglet is doing," thought Pooh.
"I wish I were there to be doing it, too."

“When late morning rolls around and you're feeling a bit out of sorts, don't worry; you're probably just a little eleven o'clockish.”

“Poetry and Hums aren't things which you get, they're things which get you. And all you can do is go where they can find you.”

She Ain't Just Mick Jagger's Old Lady...

So, I'm in total awe of L'wren Scott, the 6'4" former model turned designer. Her clothes are pretty sick and look like a actual woman might wear them.

Check out this link for a sneak peek: http://www.style.com/fashionshows/review/S2008RTW-LSCOTT/

Cheers and happy shopping.

"Girl Crush"

So, I figure if guys can have "man crushes" on dudes they want to be like, hang out with, and think are just "the shit", why can't women?! Shoes, hair, clothes, wine, food, gossip- women who rock the Life and make it look Absolutely Fabulous:

Keira Knightley

Kat Von D

Gwen Stefani

Gwyneth Paltrow

Amy Winehouse: Love her/Hate her/Love to Hate her

So, having just recently purchased "Back to Black", I have been listening to it non-stop for 2 days (I'm talking hours on end). I am, however, clearly aware of several facts: a) Amy is a total mess; b) Her voice and music rip my soul up and stitch it back together; c) It seems that alot of people who are really really good/talented at something either have drug, emotional, or psychological problems (or a combination of one or more). "Problems" could be too strong a word. How about "issues" or "battles"?
No matter that she is a train wreck in her personal life. Her addiction to junk is her biz, it's just such a damn waste. It's like she is having a conversation whilst singing and that she is pouring her heart and soul out almost non-chalantly like she doesn't give a shit who is listening or what they think. Cool.

"You Know I'm No Good":
Meet you downstairs in the bar and hurt,
Your rolled up sleeves in your skull t-shirt,
You say “what did you do with him today?”,
And sniffed me out like I was Tanqueray,
’Cause you're my fella, my guy,
Hand me your stella and fly,
By the time I'm out the door,
You tear men down like Roger Moore,

I cheated myself,
Like I knew I would,
I told you I was trouble,
You know that I'm no good,

Upstairs in bed, with my ex boy,
He's in a place, but I can't get joy,
Thinking on you in the final throes,
This is when my buzzer goes,
Run out to meet you, chips and pitta,
You say “when we married”,
'cause you're not bitter,
”There'll be none of him no more,”
I cried for you on the kitchen floor,

I cheated myself,
Like I knew I would,
I told you I was trouble,
You know that I'm no good,

Sweet reunion, Jamaica and Spain,
We're like how we were again,
I'm in the tub, you on the seat,
Lick your lips as I soak my feet,
Then you notice likkle carpet burn,
My stomach drops and my guts churn,
You shrug and it's the worst,
Who truly stuck the knife in first

I cheated myself,
Like I knew I would
I told you I was trouble,
You know that I'm no good,

I cheated myself,
Like I knew I would
I told you I was trouble,
Yeah, you know that I'm no good
